 Today in class we began making our characterization posters. I learned more in depth details about her character, which I can use to help understand her in the rest of the book. I am enjoying this project, even if I am not the best artist… I have had a great day because a project that I was working on for 11 months just got a huge award, and I am very excited. 

 Today in class we began with taking notes on characterization, then we read fences act one scene four. This chapter was very detailed in learning about Troy's upbringing, and it gave us more information into the makeup of his character. I love discussion based classes, so I enjoyed today's class, especially the first part. I am very excited because today is my birthday and I am going to my favorite restaurant, Kindred, for dinner!

 Today in class we took our student I.D. photos, read Fences Act one scenes two and three, then for homework we answered discussion questions about it. I learned about the similarities and differences of growing up in my culture verses in Troy's culture. I liked today's assignment because I love reading plays. Today has been a good and easy day and I am very excited about my birthday tomorrow. 

 Today in class we had a NewsELA assignment about the dangers of people who put all their faith and trust into Google for medical information. I have always known about the dangers of using google for medical purposes, but I was surprised to learn that many people did not know this. I enjoyed this assignment because I was fascinated with the topic we were learning about. I am excited for today because I have rehearsal, then I am going to finish my common app and essay. 

 Today in class we completed the common lit 12th grade assessment. The passage was about a person who reads stories and they give her a great sense of purpose and joy, and I relate heavily to this character. I prefer classes where we are collaborating and discussing, and assessments with few questions give me a lot of anxiety. I have had an okay day, but I am very excited for the weekend. 

 Today in class we read Act one Scene one of Fences, which is a play. It made me think about my life, and how it is different from the characters in the story. I enjoyed class today, because as a theater kid I love plays. I had a long day, so I am very excited to be home and to sleep. 

Today in class we wrote 2 paragraphs about our first 6 weeks of senior year, and it had to include 7 of our vocabulary words. This allowed me to reflect on how my time has been. I struggled on this assignment, because the words really didn't fit into my senior year super well, so it wasn't my favorite assignment. I am excited for tonight because I am hanging out with my friends before work. 

 Today we discussed fences, both physical and metaphorical, in preparation to start reading the play on Wednesday. I was able to reflect on the fences I have put up in my life, which has led to me reevaluating my life. I enjoyed this, because I like discussion based classes. I am excited for tomorrow because I get pizza for my 4th period winning minion day. 

 Today in class we learned what our unit 1 vocabulary was, what their definitions were, and how to use them in a sentence. I learned more words, which I will use to better my vocabulary not only for college, but for life. I enjoyed today's assignment, because it was do at your own pace which is really nice for 7th period on a Friday. I am excited for tonight because I get to babysit, and make money. 

 Today in class we had a discussion about the essay "Why I Want A Wife". I think learning about different people's perspectives on the same questions is important, because you are able to truly look into your culture and society. I enjoyed today's class, because I was able to reflect on gender roles in society. I have had a good day, but I have a very busy day after school. 

 Today in class we analyzed, reflected on, and then took our own spin on the poem Why I Want My Wife.  I learned more about the stereotypical roles of men and women and it gave me the perspective I needed to be a good spouse when I'm older. I enjoyed todays project, because it gave humor to a very complicated issue. I am excited for tonight because I am working, and I am having friends over after. 

 Today in class we watched a slide show and took notes on it. I learned about how different cultures have different gender roles, and that fascinated me. I enjoyed todays assignment, and I learned a lot from it. I am very excited for work tomorrow, and for minion day on Thursday. 

 Today in class we had our first vocabulary quiz, then had our last 3 StoryMap presentations. I learned the importance of studying for quizzes, but I am proud of the grade I got. I enjoyed learning about everyone, through the maps. I have the SAT tomorrow and I am not excited about it. 

 Today in class we presented our story maps. I think learning about other peoples' lives and seeing how different people interpreted different prompts provides a new sense of empathy, and it led to a new level of personal reflection. I really enjoyed this assignment because I was able to have a more relaxed class period and learn more about others. I am excited for tonight because me and Lucy are going to Target, then we are working together for the first time, but I am not excited about getting the Yondr pouches tomorrow. 

 Today in class we finished our story maps. I learned more about myself due to the introspection that is required for this project. I am enjoying this project a lot, and I hope we are able to do more things similar to it throughout the year. I am excited for tonight, because I will be able to sleep.
