What holiday do you look forward to the most each year, and why is it your favorite?

 My favorite holiday is Christmas. I look forward to many aspects of it, and the time around of it. I love the candlelight Christmas Eve service at my church, especially because I have been able to be a part of the service for the past 7 years. In our family, we have Christmas day with about 25 family members, which is a lot of people, but it is fun for a little while. I love the combination of religion and family this holiday encompasses. 

Today we took a common assessment for multicultural Lit. I felt very confident on it and I am hopeful it helps me get above an 85.

I was able to truly reflect on what hurts me and the power that my words have. I appreciated the depth of today’s lesson and the thought that went into covering such a difficult conversation. Write about a feeling that took you by surprise.

 One feeling that took me surprise was at the end of my first ever show. I was in Winnie The Pooh in 6th grade and I had my closing night. Going into it I thought I would be excited like I am at the end of most shows, but instead I cried. I didn’t expect to do this, but I ugly cried. Not like a nice simple tear, but an ugly balling cry. Still to this day, whenever I finish a show I do this, so if anyone wants to see me cry, come to closing night of Matilda. Today in class we learned about how in Indian culture people defecate on the ground and how it is a large health concern. I was not aware that this was an issue, so now I feel more educated, and more grateful for the clean water we have.

Why I want a Wife

 Today in class we analyzed, reflected on, and then took our own spin on the poem Why I Want My Wife.  I learned more about the stereotypical roles of men and women and it gave me the perspective I needed to be a good spouse when I'm older. I enjoyed todays project, because it gave humor to a very complicated issue. I am excited for tonight because I am working, and I am having friends over after.
