Write About A Place You Never Wanted To Leave

I never want to leave my vacations, but the one that comes to top of mind is my most recent trip to New York City. To me, NYC is comforting. I know that may sound ironic, because it is known as the city that never sleeps, but I find such relaxation in that. I feel so simple and relaxed when I am in New York. One specific example of this was on my last day when we visited Central Park. I found a tree, put my air pods in, and read underneath it. It sounds so simple, but it is a memory I think so fondly of. I was fighting a cold, so sitting and relaxing was very helpful and important.

Today in class we had an introduction to Indian culture, specifically the head wobbles and the fact that they eat with their hands. I always enjoy learning about other cultures, but this is not something I will try in my day-to-day life.

What do you believe is the most beautiful creation in the world—natural or man-made—and why?

I believe the most beautiful creation in the world is waterfalls. There's something so magical about the cascading water and the way it falls on the rocks below. They truly show me the scale of the Earth, and how small I am in comparison to everything. I can't see them and not thank God for everything he does. Today in class we read the poem Tyger and answered questions about it. I really enjoyed this poem, especially in regards to Earth Day. I am going to the aquarium with my friends for a yoga class today and I am very excited.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

One skill that I have learned in high skill that will help me live independently after high school is how to be assertive. I used to be very scared to speak my mind and enact change, but with the help of theater, I have learned how to speak my mind and be true to myself. I actually was presented an award from Georgia Thespians this weekend, for being the top theater maker of the year, and I am so honored. I think this will help me when I grow up because I will be able to make change happen, and I can speak my truth.  Today in class we had a newsELA where we learned about the Bill of Rights. It was super interesting, and I am excited to learn more.

What holiday do you look forward to the most each year, and why is it your favorite?

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I look forward to many aspects of it, and the time around of it. I love the candlelight Christmas Eve service at my church, especially because I have been able to be a part of the service for the past 7 years. In our family, we have Christmas day with about 25 family members, which is a lot of people, but it is fun for a little while. I love the combination of religion and family this holiday encompasses.  Today we took a common assessment for multicultural Lit. I felt very confident on it and I am hopeful it helps me get above an 85.
